Income-tax (Thirteenth Amendment) Rules, 2007—AMENDMENT in rule 2BB
Notification No. 270 was published on 7 November 2007. Its subject is Income-tax (Thirteenth Amendment) Rules, 2007—AMENDMENT in rule 2BB.
This amends the Income-tax Rules. What it changes is the Rules, not the Act — and a rule can never take away what the section gives.
By the Income-tax (Thirteenth Amendment) Rules, 2007, made under section 295 read with sub-clause (ii) of clause (14) of section 10 of the Income-tax Act, 1961, the Central Board of Direct Taxes amends rule 2BB of the Income-tax Rules, 1962. In Part II, in rule 2BB, in sub-rule (2), in the Table, against serial number 12, in column 2 relating to the name of the allowance, the word "coal" is omitted. The entry at that serial number therefore stands, but without the word "coal" in its description of the allowance.
