Report under section 115JB of the Income-tax Act, 1961 for computing the book profits of the company
Form 29B belongs to the regime of the Income-tax Act, 1961. The same ground is now covered by Form 66 of the Income-tax Rules, 2026. It is a report — somebody with a professional obligation putting a set of facts on record for the department to act on. The assessee signs and files this himself.
| What the description names | Where it sits now |
|---|---|
| section 115JB of the 1961 Act | section 2, section 206 |
Rules of the 2026 Rules that work the same section. rule 118 (Relief in tax payable under section 206(1) due to operation of). This is our own matching — we have paired the section the form names with the rules whose headings name that same section. The department has not said that any of these rules prescribes this form.

You meet it in the run-up to the filing date, when a claim in the return needs an accountant’s report behind it. The report goes in separately from the return, and it usually has to be in before the return is.
When I reduce export profits from book profit under section 115JB, do I take the full section 80HHC(3) figure or only the 80 per cent the phase-out allows?

I did not tick s.115BAA in the return and filed Form 10-IC late. Can I still get the concessional rate?
My company was finally assessed on book profit under section 115JB. Can the officer still levy concealment penalty on a disallowance he made in the normal computation?
The only addition is the gap between the stamp duty value and my price. Can that carry a s.270A penalty?
The department says the monetary limit does not apply to my case. Which exceptions let it appeal anyway?
